Septiembre de 1939: El comandante del Admiral Graf Spee recibe la orden de hundir el mayor número posible de buques de carga británicos en el Atlántico Sur. El objetivo es interceptar los barcos que cruzan el Atlántico e impedir que los suministros lleguen al Reino Unido y otros destinos.
El plan parece funcionar en los primeros meses. En pocas semanas, el Admiral Graf Spee hunde nueve buques de carga y envía al fondo del mar casi 50.000 toneladas de registro bruto. La gigantesca pérdida pone bajo presión al mando del ejército en el Whitehall londinense. Para proteger sus cargueros de la mejor manera posible, el Almirantazgo no tiene más remedio que reforzar la flota inglesa en el Atlántico Sur enviando tres cruceros en lo que se conoce como «La Batalla del Río de la Plata».
La Caza es un duelo asimétrico en el que un jugador asume el liderazgo de la Royal Navy británica, mientras que el otro representa a la Kriegsmarine alemana. Cada jugador tiene su propio mazo de cartas. Para que el bando alemán gane, debe permanecer oculto a los británicos mientras hunde cinco cargueros. El jugador británico debe dar caza y luchar contra el Almirante Graf Spee en una batalla naval final, en la que gana el bando que acabe con menos daños.
¿Será capaz la Royal Navy de aprovechar su superioridad numérica, o será la Kriegsmarine la que con su astucia y refinada estrategia consiga derrocar a su rival?
September 1939: The commander of the Admiral Graf Spee receives the order to sink as many British freight ships as possible in the South Atlantic. The objective is to intercept the ships crossing the Atlantic and prevent supplies from reaching the UK and other destinations.
The plan seems to work in the first months. Within a few weeks, the Admiral Graf Spee sinks nine freight ships and sends almost 50,000 gross register tons to the seabed. The gigantic loss puts the army command in London Whitehall under pressure. In order to protect their freighters in the best possible way, the Admiralty had no choice but to reinforce the English fleet in the South Atlantic by sending three cruisers in what is known as «The Battle of River Plate».
The Hunt is an asymmetric duel in which one player assumes the leadership of the British Royal Navy, while the other player represents the German Kriegsmarine. Each player has their own deck of cards. In order for the German side to win, it must stay hidden from the British while sinking five cargo ships. The British player must hunt down and fight the Admiral Graf Spee in a final naval battle, in which case the side that ends up with less damage wins.
Will the Royal Navy be able to take advantage of its numerical superiority, or will the Kriegsmarine be the ones who with their cunning and refined strategy manage to overthrow their rival?
